At a recent summit of the Group of Seven, the economically advanced democracies of the U.S., Japan, Germany, Britain, France, Italy and Canada pledged to move away more quickly from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources, primarily windmills, solar panels and even the nascent technology of renewable hydrogen.

The G7 is blowing smoke. This segment of What’s Ahead goes over why: The costs are prohibitive and, even worse, largely a waste of money. Government finances are strapped, and the days of freely printing money to help cover obese government spending are coming to a close.
